FROM THE 2010 PRESIDENT:

Wow, 2010 is here. Where did 2009 go? And what a year it was! There have been many challenges and opportunities during the past year. How have we dealt with those challenges and opportunities?

After attending the NAR/CRS Meetings in San Diego in November and networking with CRS members from all over the country, we realize that everyone is struggling with the same challenges. We, here in the Midwest, have not seen the drastic drop in home values that some parts of the country have had. Nor, have we experienced the extremely high number of foreclosures that many areas are experiencing. Yes, the market is slower than what we were all used to but not as depressed as the market in many areas of the country.

All the State CRS Chapters are facing the same challenges of keeping their membership numbers up and getting bodies in the chairs for their educational opportunities.

I think now more than ever is the time to be a CRS. In this challenging market, we need a point of difference. Designations, particularly, the CRS designation gives us that distinction. Buyers and Sellers in this market want to work with “The Best”. And, we are The Best, the PhD’s of real estate.

Chapter With a Heart
Wisconsin CRS - Chapter With a HeartWisconsin CRS - Chapter With a Heart

Camp Hozhoni is a weekend camp for children with cancer and their families. The camp is usually held at Wisconsin Lions Camp, Rosholt, Wis., the first weekend after Labor Day and serves approximately 40 families (200 people) per year.

Hozhoni is a Navajo word meaning “completed circle of harmony.” The American Cancer Society Hozhoni Weekend began in 1986 with 12 families. It has grown to include 30-40 families per year with a volunteer staff of 40.
